7. The Philadelphia Experiment

This interesting sci-fi adventure (named and adapted from a widely-reported incident in 1942 about a battleship that supposedly disappeared with all its crew) begins in 1943 on a naval destroyer where strange experiments are being enacted. Something goes wrong and the ship and two crewmen are sent forty nine years into the future. They then try to solve the mystery of how they got there and how they can get home. In the meantime, one of the soldiers falls in love.

Peggy Sue Bodell (Kathleen Turner) attends her 25-year high school reunion after separating from her cheating husband, Charlie (Nicolas Cage). She regrets the decisions she has made in her life, such as getting pregnant by Charlie in high school. When she faints at the reunion, she awakens in 1960. Given the chance to relive her life, she changes many things. However, some choices are more complicated, as she begins to see young Charlie’s charm and true feelings.

Luckily for Bill and Ted, Rufus also has a phone booth that can travel through time and a list of historic figures they intend on abducting for their high school presentation. From the Wild West to ancient Greece, from snotty, French dictators to medieval babes, Bill and Ted must make it back to San Demas in time and ensure a future where everyone is excellent to each other.
